  • The Science of Gene Editing. What is gene editing and how does it compare to other breeding methods, including genetic engineering? What are the latest developments? What is in the pipeline in India and elsewhere?
  • The Regulatory & Policy Environments in India and globally. What is the international conversation around oversight of gene edited agricultural products? How are gene edited products being regulated in different countries? How gene edited products might be regulated in India? Will we have the legal license to edit in India?
  • How do we effectively communicate about gene editing?


Learning Outcomes

  • Participants understand the latest technical developments in genome editing as pertains to crops and agriculture, including latest developments in the Indian context
  • Participants understand legal and policy choke points and opportunities and know how to engage to endure science-based decision making
  • Participants become more effective communicators of the gains from gene editing
