There is now global recognition of the One Health Summit and the interconnectedness of health of humans, animals, and the environment. The One Health Program will bring in together experts and researchers from these disciplines to solve global challenges through a collaborative One Health-focused approach. The One Health Approach becomes all the more pertinent in the context of developing countries such as India with burgeoning issues surrounding several aspects –regulations around use of antibiotics in humans and the entire food chain, poor control of zoonotic diseases, food safety etc. There is a high need for a multi-stakeholder approach to discuss these critical issues and employ the One Health Approach. The summit will converge thought leaders across academic institutions, international organizations, policymaker, regulators and industry to discuss the Indian context and lay the foundation for this integrated intervention approach to be adopted in priority areas.
